Students for New York was formed in early 2013 to bridge the gap between college students in NYC. Despite being a subway ride away from just about everything, we often find ourselves stuck in our campus "bubbles." This shouldn't be a hard problem to solve. Whether we want to meet new people, explore new neighborhoods, volunteer, or gain real world work experience – this city has a lot to offer us. We have a lot to offer each other.
That's why we created this organization: to tap into the potential of the city and each other. We want to coordinate student collaborations and projects. We want to host social events, career panels, conferences, and other cross-campus events. We want to connect with the exciting industries this city is home to. Students for New York currently has about a dozen schools involved, and our goal is to eventually engage students at all 120+ colleges and universities in the city.
